Conceptual Landscape Design & Graphic Exhibits
Creative outdoor landscapes begin with collective goals and instituting opportunities through graphic interpretations. Rios Design Studio listens to our clients to establish landscape project goals. Next, we review the landscape project to become familiar with the site conditions. Then alternative landscape solutions are crafted for the client to choose from. Rios Design Studio conveys the project vision through prepared graphic exhibits that can be used as the finalized Preliminary Plan, before proceeding onto the Landscape Construction Document package preparation.
Landscape Construction Document Preparation
The Landscape Construction Documents are composed of the plans, details and specifications for the demolition, grading, construction elements, irrigation, planting and lighting components of a landscape project site. Rios Design Studio uses AutoCAD to prepare the landscape plans. Using electronic files allows us to collaborate with other consultants quickly. The Landscape Construction Drawing Package is a prepared set of legal documents, provided to our clients for the purpose of obtaining competitive bids from licensed landscape contractors. Rios Design Studio is available to clarify any questions during the bid process.
Landscape Construction Administration
After the bid has been awarded, Rios Design Studio coordinates with selected installing landscape contractor. Site observation visits are conducted so that Rios Design Studio can verify and document that the installation of the project is in substantial conformance with the landscape construction documents. Reports are prepared and distributed through the established chain of command. Prior to project close out, Rios Design Studio provides review of record ‘As-Builts’ Drawings, prepared by the installing landscape contractor. As an agent of the client, we are available throughout the landscape installation process and maintenance period.
Landscape Water Auditing Services
Even the best designed landscape irrigation system can waste water, if the system runs longer than necessary. Rios Design Studio designs quality irrigation systems that can accurately manage the water delivered to the landscape areas. Rios Design Studio can perform water audits to comply with California AB1881 requirements. Irrigation Association certifications have been earned and maintained by Rios Design Studio staff members.
